Well, there it is; the brand new website of Studio 1207. I’m happy I can finally show it to you. And proud! Up until a year ago I wouldn’t have thought I’d change course like this. But that did happen. After more than 13 years, I said farewell to my old boss in 2015. Of course, that was a decision I’d thought about for a long time. But after all those beautiful, special, difficult and mostly fun years, I was done with it and I thought it was time for a new challenge. It was time to turn my passion for interior into something more concrete. So back to school, I went for Interior Design. During this course of study, I got the idea to start working for myself. Really scary, but also really cool.
After I had obtained my diploma, I took some courses to further my knowledge, like sketching on the computer and light design, and I dove into the world of starting your own business. A whole new world for me and that involves a lot nowadays, in 2017, for example, due to the influence and power of the internet.
And you can only start once, so I wanted to do it well.
That didn’t mean just coming up with a name and a logo, but also following seminars with the chamber of commerce and the tax authority – that happened to be very much worth it by the way – and finding out who could help me along on this road. The offer is huge, but how do you know if you’ve got the right person?
My feelings on this matter have luckily helped me a lot. I ended up with Helder Merk and together we started this – for me – intensive road. Through which I did get a lot of energy and knowledge. When building a website there’s a lot that comes into it, you’re really building something, even though you won’t really be able to see this anymore, that black and white, on my website. As soon as it all began to take more shape, I started to feel the excitement building. You have to make a lot of decisions, even though you have no idea if you’re better off going left, or better off going right. Only time will tell if I took the right decisions.
I’ve got faith in all of it and I’m looking forward to being able to use my passion and my knowledge! By the way, the name is my date of birth and also an anagram of 2017.
